ME+EM has opened its 5th London store, and proved to be a fantastic addition to the local community, when it began trading on St John’s Wood High Street on Friday 1st February.

The darling of the London Villages, ME+EM was founded by Clare Hornby in 2009 as a direct response to her own frustrations when trying to find quality, fashionable clothes that didn’t cost a fortune.  ME+EM is the perfect middle ground between the High Street, which offers affordable instant trends that are potentially badly made, and the luxury end where expert craftsmanship commands an inaccessible price point.

ME+EM is based on 3 main principles:  Clothing to be flattering; each design is tried on 3 different model shapes;  clothing to be functional and versatile with durable, crease-free fabrics that will last, and finally clothing that is fashionable;  trends are edited down to the ones which are most flattering and will last.

ME+EM is known for its ethical standards and therefore is a highly respected retailer when it comes to environmental and social responsibility.  It’s a foundation member of the Ethical Trading Initiative;  all packaging is kept to a minimum and is recycled and all leather is a by-product.

It’s a fabulous addition to any retail community and one which Bruce Gillingham Pollard is delighted to have helped secure on St John’s Wood High Street.  Check out their February collection which has just landed at stores!
