In the lead up to Christmas and taking inspiration from the well-known carol '12 Days of Christmas', we wanted to highlight some of the amazing restaurants which have opened over the course of 2018, with our very own '12 Restaurants of Christmas'. We hope this inspires you to try some you may have missed.

On the basis not many operators open a restaurant in January, first up is one of the best restaurants which opened in Autumn 2017, but was so busy, it took until around January to get a table; Core by Clare Smyth. Based in the heart of Notting Hill, Core celebrates the finest British ingredients while in a relaxed setting, receiving numerous accolades which include two stars in the 2019 Michelin Guide, 10/10 in the Good Food Guide, five AA rosettes, Best Restaurant at the GQ Food and Drink Awards, New Restaurant of the Year by The Craft Guild of Chefs and the Service Award at the National Restaurant Awards. To top that off, Clare also received the World’s Best Female Chef Award by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. It’s not hard to see why we would want to include it in our 12 Restaurants of Christmas, even if it didn’t open this year.

The site was acquired by Nick Garston on behalf of Clare Smyth, prior to joining Bruce Gillingham Pollard, and secured by James Bell on behalf of the landlord Amazon Property during his time at CBRE.
