The Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew

Christmas at Kew

Christmas at Kew

Rosie Carey-Watts

Living in London, Kew has always been somewhere I enjoy to visit. However for the first time I visited Kew in the dark and saw a truly magical side!
For the fourth year The Royal Botanical Gardens has opened its Christmas experience with a new mile-long trail through the famous botanic gardens, lit up with more than 60,000 lights. The trail  leads you past glowing trees, through a scented fire garden, to a spectacular bee-inspired installation The Hive, which boasts 1,000 LEDs that pulsate and glow against the night sky.  Finally The Palm House and its pond is lit up with an explosion of brightly coloured laser beams and streams of light that dance in time to Christmas songs.
Christmas at Kew also features vintage rides, Christmassy food and drinks, Santa and his elves. There is something truly wonderful about seeing Kew lit up at Christmas and I really recommend taking a trip to bring some magic back in to your Christmas!
