‘Retail therapy’ and ‘Ibiza’ don’t usually go hand-in-hand

Jack Barratt

The words ‘retail therapy’ and ‘Ibiza’ don’t usually go hand-in-hand, especially for a male, twenty-five year old on holiday for 6 days with fourteen mates. Whilst my returning luggage didn’t contain any Massimo, Zara, or Prada garments, my mind arrived home with an abundant desire to set up my own beach side bar/restaurant and count the endless stream of Russian punters coming in
My first inspiration is the cooler sister of its city counterparts in every sense. Experimental cocktail club have shabby, speakeasy-feel bars in both London and Paris. This on the other hand, can be found feet-up on a beach in the rays. Renowned for tinkering around with local ingredients, the margarita is pepped up with local Ibizan hierbas, and punchbowls come in a giant conch. The food is sensational too!
Second is Amante Beach Club perched on a cliff overlooking Serra bay. Like myself it is known for its style and sophistication. Huge day beds, outstanding views and an amazing Mediterranean menu, it is the perfect place to venture post 16:00 once the hangover wears off, it even has it’s own outdoor cinema for this summer. Aside from the mega clubs and berserk day parties both of these venues should be on your Ibiza Bucket List. That said nothing can beat a DIY villa bar/restaurant with some homemade cooking -  SALUD Jacks Bar!!
