Mum’s is a restaurant in Sagres, Portugal which as the name suggests prides itself on home cooking set within a cosy environment. We visited Mum’s on recommendation from friends who had been previously, on the premise that skipping meat for one meal was well worth it for this very different vegetarian and fish restaurant!
The restaurant interior is quirky and homely, full of various finds that create a fun and atmospheric room. The menu seems to derive from Italian with some Portuguese influence, with all the dishes (that we tried) full of flavour. With the fresh fish on their doorstep, the fish dishes did of course not disappoint and neither did the quality of the Portuguese wine, which went down extremely well on our table.
The staff were extremely helpful and helped to create a fantastic evening in this charming and nostalgic restaurant which I would recommend to anyone. Sometimes simple really is best.
