Bang Bang Vietnamese Canteen, London

A family run Vietnamese canteen

A family run Vietnamese canteen

Exit Warren Street underground station and after a short walk down the street the station takes it name from, you will come to a simple looking but stylish Vietnamese canteen called Bang Bang. From the outside it is nothing special, just another restaurant riding the Asian culinary wave spreading out across the UK at the moment, but try the food and you will discover this cool family run Vietnamese joint is a little bit special.
The service can be mixed, as the numerous reviews on the web will tell you, but if you can deal with the slightly ‘blunt’ waiters the food will more than make up for it. Personally I find it hard to get past the appetizers, with the salt and chilli ribs and spicy wings firm favourites, but if you do turn the page there is a wide selection of all the classic Vietnamese dishes available (Bao’s, Pho’s etc.) Wash it all down with one of their quality Vietnamese beers or, if on a alcohol free stint, try some Asian Bubble Tea.
It gets busy most days, lunch and evening, so reservations are recommended. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere so if you’re looking for somewhere new to try in 2016 put Bang Bang at the top of your list!
