A new mixed use development at the heart of the South Bank
Southbank Place is being developed by Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar. Subject to planning, construction is due to start in 2014 with completion due 2019.
Bruce Gillingham Pollard have been working on the initial retail and restaurant designs and store configuration, whilst working with the landlords on the development of a tenant mix strategy for the site.
Plans for the 50 acres estate includes a mixed use development, comprising offices, retail, restaurants and cafes and 877 new homes, as well as open space and enhanced public realm. The well known 1950's 27 storey tower in the centre of the site will be preserved and retained by Shell, who will also take a 210,000 pre-let in one of the new office buildings to be constructed on the site.
The Shell Centre is at the heart of London's South Bank. The redevelopment will create a quality envrionment for restaurant and retail uses.
